Obituary of John M. Mattice
John M. Mattice, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on November 7, 2021. Born in Schenectady, NY to the late Francis and Florence (Pawlowski) Mattice. After graduation from Linton High School, John continued his education at Hudson Valley to receive his Associate Degree in Applied Science.
Throughout his life John was an enthusiast for fast muscle cars and also his Harley Davidson motorcycle. From his Pontiac Formula, GTO and lastly the G8, he was a fan.
He was a past member and president of the Electric City GTOs. He also served as past treasurer of a local Harley Davidson club.
John married the former Kathleen A. Zalucki. Together they shared 45 years of marriage, raising their daughter in the Burnt Hills Ballston Lake school district. John was a dedicated husband and father, there was nothing he wouldn’t for his family. He was known as “Crew Dad” supporting his daughter in her rowing career and as a coach at Burnt Hills. John was also part of the team of parent volunteers that built the Burnt Hills Rowing Association Boathouse in 1999.
For 37 years John worked at General Electric Global Research as an Environmental Control Coordinator. John spent quality time with his family, friends and fur babies, 3 beloved pugs, he was a true NY Giants fan. He also enjoyed all things Sci-Fi, from comic books to movies. John had a genuine kindness and was very easy going, he will be missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his wife, Kathleen and daughter Kristen M. Mattice (Stewart Millikan)
A calling period will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home on Friday, November 12 from 10 to 11 AM. A celebration of Life service will follow at 11 AM. Masks are required.
