Obituary of Thomas Osborne

Thomas E. Osborne, 66, died peacefully August 30, 2013 at Ellis Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Schenectady on May 12, 1947,the son of John and Mildred Kottke Osborne, he was a 1966 graduate of Colonie High School. Drafted into the service of his country, he was a Vietnam era Army veteran from '66-'68. Tom worked as a mechanic for MacGregor Auto Electric in Schenectady and married the former Patricia M. Cannon on February 7, 1970. In 1974 the couple moved to Glenville where he partnered in the Harley-Davidson Golf Cart Business. He owned and operated Tom's Auto Craft on Erie Boulevard for several years. Tom most recently was a service representative and mechanic for Tenant Floor Equipment. Tom was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Woodworking was his passion as evidenced by his crafting of fine furniture out of trees harvested by hand! He was predeceased by by his brother Jack Osborne. Survivors include his beloved wife Patricia Marie Osborne, his son Thomas J. Osborne and his wife Cheryl and daughter Cindy Osborne DuBrey, all of Glenville; his cherished grandchildren: Linnea and Victoria "Tori" Cross, Benjamin Harris, Kathryn "Kat" DuBrey, Kimberly and Todd "T.J." DuBrey and his adored great grandchildren Alex and Camilla. Tom leaves behind his brothers, Robert Osborne of Schenectady and Richard Osborne of Northville, his sisters, Ruth Striefert of Duansburg and Nancy Gabriel of Colonie as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Tom's life will be held Tuesday September 3 at 7:00 PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home from 4-7 PM prior to the service. Burial with military honors will take place at Memory Gardens at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Northeastern Woodworker's Association, P.O.
