Obituary of Janice K. Rourke

Janice K. Rourke, 87, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2021 at Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home.  Janice was born on November 9, 1934 to Anna Frydel and Anthony Kozlowski.  She attended St. Michael’s School in Cohoes, St. Joseph’s Academy in Schenectady, and graduated with a B.S. in Business from The College of St. Rose.

Janice worked for many years as an Executive Secretary at the General Electric Company.  She was for some years the Executive Secretary to the Chairman and Executive Officer. She also worked as a buyer and at KAPL.

Janice married Thomas G. Rourke in 1956.  He predeceased her in 2008.  
Janice enjoyed traveling, a good game of golf, bingo, working in her lovely garden, spoiling her Pomeranians, and giving to local charities.

She is survived by her nephew, John Czernis, of Tallahassee, FL, and her niece, Peggy Czernis-Johnson, of Vero Beach, FL, and cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family is grateful for the loving care which Janice received from Kathy Bucher and the staff at Schuyler Ridge and from the Hospice nurses.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road Glenville on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 9:30am to 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at11am the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road Glenville, NY.  Entombment will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Glenville.
