Obituary of Jessica Harpine

Jessica V.E. Harpine, 85, passed away peacefully August 30, 2013 at the Baptist Health and Rehabiltation Center. Jessica was born in Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Aaron and Sarah Van Emden. She grew up in Virginia and graduated from Washington Lee High School. Jessie received her nursing certificate from Ellis Hospital's School of Nursing. She worked for VNSA (Visiting Nurse Service Association) and the Oswald D. Heck Developmental Center in Niskayuna, retiring in 1986. Jessie played tournament bridge, eventually earning the ranking of life master; and for many years, enjoyed bowling before arthritis forced her to discontinue the sport. Jessie was predeceased by her three sisters, Abigail, Frances and Louise. Survivors include her sons: Gordon Harpine and his wife Sue, Steve Harpine and his fiancé Suzie, her daughter Louise Campbell and her husband Norm and her daughter-in-law Deb Harpine and her fiancé Vik; cherished grandchildren: Jennifer (Tim) Gray, Scott (Kim) Harpine, Andrew (Heather) Harpine, Cori (Steve) Lownsbury and Kevin Swart, as well as her beloved great grandchildren: Zack and Justin Gray, Alicia, Dylan, Linsey and Marisa Harpine and Tyler and Giada Lownsbury. The family would like to thank the staff at Baptist Health Center for their compassionate care and attention during her five year stay. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. As family gathering's were so very special to Jessie, a memorial "picnic" will be held at the home of Gordon and Sue Harpine in Burnt Hills.
