Mary Federico-Campbell

Obituary of Mary Federico-Campbell

Mary Federico-Campbell passed away on December 12, 2021 after a brief illness.  She was 78 years old and the proud mother of four (4) daughters, countless grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a family she built with her husband of 45 years Valentino Federico, Jr. who predeceased her in 2008.

Mary worked several jobs throughout her lifetime to help support her family including time at Northeast Parent and Child Society and with the Schenectady City School District.  However, no role was more important to her than the one of being a mom, loving wife, and matriarch of the family.  She never missed an event and was always so proud of her girls and their achievements.

Mary enjoyed large family events more than any other moments in life.  The holidays were especially warm and memorable with gatherings that filled her home with laughter and sometimes chaos fit for a comedy series. Mary was always at the center of it with her impish sense of humor. She was the life of every party.

Later in life Mary reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Timothy Campbell, they married in 2015 and settled in their hometown of Stillwater.  They shared a love of camping and the outdoors.  Tim was always working to meet Mary’s high energy for remodeling their home together.  He became part of our family and his love and caring for Mary during her final years filled her heart with joy.

Mary leaves behind a large family, her husband Tim, her daughters and their husbands Valerie Federico-Maietta and Todd Maietta of Keene, NH, Pamela and Kenneth Williams of Schenectady, NY, Mary and Richard Margeson of Schenectady, NY, Christine and Christopher Mennillo of Glenville, NY, nine (9) grandchildren (Valentino & Tessa Federico-Maietta, Alyshia, Adam Williams & Sarah Ingraham, Jordan & Chelsey Quiernan, and David & Dylan Mennillo), five (5) great-grandchildren (Aubree, Anthony, Grace, Sophia, and Mya), three (3) sisters (Carolyn and Richard Dantz of Mechanicville, NY, Julie and Ralph Bartels of Burns, WY, Adele and George DeMers of Ticonderoga, NY), two (2) brothers (Thomas and Ahnie LaBarge of Syracuse, NY, William and Carmen LaBarge of Grants Pass, OR), and so many friends met along the way.  She will be missed greatly.

Before Mary left this earth she was able to enjoy a moment with her daughters from the hospital through a video chat, a moment that gave her the peace to say, only as Mary could say, “Bye Now”.  She passed peacefully just a few days later leaving behind a legacy of love and tradition that her family will carry on for her as she reunites with Valentino and family members that have passed before her.
