Obituary of Gerald M. Buyce Jr.

Gerald M. Buyce Jr., 57, of Sloansville and Lake Pleasant, NY passed away quietly on December 20, 2021 after a short illness .  Gerry grew up in Lake Pleasant and Charlton and was a graduate of Burnt Hills- Ballston Lake High School. He also attended Paul Smiths College  and the Denver Automotive and Diesel College.  Gerry worked for several years on the Ski Patrol at Gore Mountain,  where he met his wife of 24 years, Barbara Abrams. They married in 1990 on the top of the mountain where they met.   After his wife’s passing in 2013, Gerry reconnected with Robbyn Archer, whom he met at Paul Smiths College in the early 80’s.  They have made a beautiful life together and found strength in each others love and joy in every day.  They lived in Sloansville and together worked for Homeland Security as TSA Officers at Albany International Airport.   He worked at and loved his Northwoods Lodge home in Lake Pleasant.  It was his happy place full of family and friends.  He loved boating, sailing and quiet nights by the lake.  He brought his energy and creativity to parade floats and Labor Day party games for the children, and was a happy face to all he encountered.  He also loved skiing from an early age, the ocean and hiking and his dogs.  His spirit & energy were a light that brightened many lives and will be missed so very much.

Gerry is survived by his loving partner Robbyn Archer of Sloansville, his brother John (Laurel ) Buyce of Ballston  Spa, his sister, Vicki Buyce of Lake Pleasant, nieces Crystal (Mike) O’Connor and Pridday Jolliffe-Buyce , and  nephew Justin Buyce, along with aunts, uncles and cousins who all touched his heart.  He is joined in heaven by his parents Gerald & Patricia Buyce, his brother Jim Buyce and his late wife Barbara.
