Obituary of Carl A. Nappi Jr

Carl A. Nappi Jr, 76, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Carl and Gertrude (Horton) Nappi Sr. Carl was a 1963 graduate of Notre Dame – Bishop Gibbons and went on to obtain an associates degree from Hudson Valley Community College. Carl married his beloved wife Diane (Galaise) Nappi on October 17, 1965. He worked for many years as a carpenter for TPL Flooring Inc. in Rotterdam. Carl was a longtime volunteer Firefighter for the Alplaus Volunteer Fire Department, serving as former Assistant Chief and Commissioner. An avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed golfing, rooting for the NY Yankees and NY Giants, and watching NASCAR. Above all, Carl cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Diane Nappi, children Michele Saffer (Joel), Robert Nappi (Katie), John Nappi (Amy), and Christopher Nappi (Heather). His grandchildren Jessica MacLasco (Chip), Alyssa Nappi (Matt Harmych), Emily Nappi (Gavin Goertz), Sarah Nappi, Bobby Nappi, Gabrielle Saffer, Cole Nappi, Chase Nappi, Sean Saffer, Addison Nappi, Hayden Nappi and Peyton Nappi. Also surviving are his great grandchildren Quinn MacLasco and Rylee Harmych, his brothers Thomas Nappi (Donna), Richard Nappi, and Francis Nappi, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 11:30am – 1:30pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road Glenville. A funeral service will follow at 1:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Schenectady.
