Obituary of Angeline “Julie” Gardiner

Angeline “Julie” Gardiner, 93, passed away peacefully on January 29,2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong Schenectady resident she was the daughter of the late Attilio and Anita (Italia) Scaccia. Julie was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. She married her beloved late husband Henry “Hank” Gardiner on June 20, 1948 at St. Anthony’s Church in Schenectady. Together they had a wonderful marriage until his passing in 1990. Once her children were grown Julie owned her own business, Houck Processing for 12 years. Following she worked for Schenectady County Aging Office as a Secretary until her retirement. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles and antiques. Above all she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.

Left to honor her memory is her son; Robert Gardiner (Mary), daughter; Judith “Judy” DeBlaso (Larry) and grandson Frederick Apfel III (Jennifer).  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, Hank she was predeceased by her brother Jack Scaccia and sister Josephine Kowalski.

Funeral services for Julie were private. She was laid to rest beside her husband at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Glenville.
