Obituary of Marjorie V. Glindmyer

Marjorie V. Glindmyer, 101, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022 at Kingsway Arms. Born in Schenectady she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ada (Burdick) Becker. Marjorie was a 1938 graduate of Draper High School and went on to continue her education at Ellis Hospital School of Nursing. She married her beloved late husband Allen F. Glindmyer on January 3, 1943. Together they shared 52 years of marriage until his passing in 1995. Marjorie was a dedicated Registered Nurse for 43 years retiring from Ellis Hospital in 1985.  She also worked as a private duty nurse for several years. Marjorie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts and walking. Above all she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.

Marjorie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Karl F. and Sandra M. Glindmyer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 52 years Allen F. Glindmyer and her five siblings.

Special thanks and sincerest gratitude is extended to the staff and management of Kingsway Arms Nursing Center, where Marjorie was in residence for eight years. Her care, comfort and safety were very well provided for.

Funeral services for Marjorie will be private for the family. She will be laid to rest at the West Glenville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Marjorie’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
