Obituary of Willy Pieper
Willy H. Pieper, 85, of Ballston Lake, NY died on August 10, 2013.
He was born to the late Willy O. and Florence Pieper on March 19, 1928, in Schenectady, NY. Willy received a B.S. in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute after completing a tour with the US Army as part of the post World War II reconstruction in Japan. He married Elaine Kimmey in 1961, and they lived together in Auburn, NY before moving full time to Ballston Lake.
Willy was passionate about gardening and landscaping his beloved Camp along the Ballston Lake shoreline and spent many happy hours there working on his rock garden and bird watching. He was also an avid golfer and active for many years with various Lutheran congregations and social groups.
Willy is survived by his wife and four children: Frederick Pieper of Gansevoort, NY; Marjorie Pieper of Seattle, WA; Barbara Butler of Woodbridge, CT; and Deborah Pieper of Clifton Park, NY. He is also survived by his brother Carl Pieper of Scotia, NY and by his five grandchildren: Kristofer, Alexander, Emily, Cameron, and Kaitlyn who he loved dearly.
A private memorial service was held on August 14th with family and close friends at his Ballston Lake home that meant so much to him.
