Robert J. Lewis, 53, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2022 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. Born in Weymouth, MA, he was the son of the late Robert and Judith (Welch) Lewis. Bob was a 1986 graduate of Whitman Hanson Regional High School and went on to obtain his BA degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, his teaching certification at Russell Sage College and finally his administrative certification at SUNY Albany. Bob was a dedicated special education teacher and administrator. He worked for several local school districts - Shenendehowa Central School District, Catskill Central School District, Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School District and Scotia-Glenville School District as well as the Jefferson-Lewis BOCES in Watertown, NY.  In 1994, Bob relocated to NY to be with his future wife Kimberly (Johnson) Lewis and they were subsequently married on July 12, 1997, in North Falmouth, MA. Their 35 year relationship was built upon a deep, mutual love and respect for each other.  Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing, volleyball and snowmobiling. He loved history and his special focus was the Civil War. He had a love of tigers and classic cars - especially corvettes.  He loved all sports, but having played baseball and football in his youth, those were his favorites.  He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.  He and his wife enjoyed traveling and made several trips to Europe.  In his own quiet way, family was very important to him and he enjoyed all time spent with them.

In addition to his wife, Kimberly Lewis he is survived by his stepfather John Parsons (Englewood, FL), sister Julie Hipe (Michael) (Cumming, GA), aunt Joanne Hilfiger (the late Donald) (Henderson, TN), sister-in-law Stephanie Johnson (Frank Nichols) (Pilot Mountain, NC), nieces and nephews - Jenna Nichols (30), Samantha Hipe (26), Erik Hipe (24), Kathryn Hipe (22) and Nicholas Johnson (17), along with several cousins and many good friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his canine companions Guinness, Casey and Darci.
