On behalf of CVS I wish to express my deepest condolences to the Ruehlman family! Eric’s passion for his patients and the colleagues he worked with was second to none. He got such enjoyment out of guiding younger Pharmacists on a successful career path. As Regional Director I usually only saw Eric once a year. However, I saw him 3 times in the last few months. Being only a couple years apart we had a lot in common. I enjoyed the conversations we had about balancing life and work! I especially enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor! To the Ruehlman family and Sarah’s family my deepest condolences are extended to all of you. Eric and I are the same age and as kids we were very close growing up. We did almost everything together on the weekends To include Pat, John and my brother Jame. After my first deployment to Afghanistan I spoke with Eric on how serial it was that I had the opportunity to be in a real combat environment and relating it to when we played guns in the neighborhood. As we became older we both picked up our pace for doing things and never stopped, that’s the way Eric was as a child and to his departing day. His character, intellect, integrity and compassion were insurmountable, he will be truly missed but never forgotten. Mark and Carole Giacovelli

To Sarah and Eric's family, the Giacovelli family would like to express our deepest sympathies. My brother Mark and I have been friends with Eric since we were little boys. Eric, with his brothers, Pat and John, were literally inseparable from my brother Mark and I. Eric was the youngest of us five and he was by far the funniest. We had great times "terrrorizing" the neighborhood. We did sleep overs, almost every weekend. We did bike trips on piece of junk bikes. We went on all day hiking "field trips" to the IBM Glen. We all fell in love with the great outdoors. Our parents had to drag us in from outside. We never stopped. Eric never lost that passion. I always enjoyed hearing about all the great places Eric visited. I had not seen Eric in a few years and even before that only on occasion. Seeing pictures of him on some mountain and reading the stories always brought a smile to my face. Eric's warmth, friendliness and wit were always felt, even from afar. While our extended families could not be there for Eric's service we wanted to again express our deepest sympathies and prayers. Eric, brother and friend, rest easy, keep riding and trekking.
