Obituary of Arnold C. Hyde

Arnold “Arnie” C. Hyde, 83, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2022.  Born on August 22, 1938 in St. Johnsville, NY to his late parents Herbert S. and Vileita (Hoyt) Hyde.  He was the last Hyde born on the family farm. Throughout his life, he was involved in his family business, Hyde Rv & Boats, located in Rexford, NY. 

A 1956 graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School, he continued his education at Ohio State. For more than 40 years, he worked at KAPL in West Milton and Niskayuna, NY as a Nuclear Design Engineer. Arnie was a hard worker, he studied at Union College to excel in his career. For a portion of his life, he served in the Air National Guard.

In 1984, he married the former, Jill Huffmier. He became a proud stepfather, and later in life step-grandfather. 

Arnie was a lover of the outdoors. Any reason to get outside was a good enough reason! As an early riser, Arnie took in the quiet dawn, followed by breakfast; he loved breakfast! The Hyde family enjoyed boating and that remained an important part of Arnie’s life. 

Predeceased by his parents and cousin Karen Paul. 

He is survived by his wife, Jill; step-daughters, Brittany Lavin and Taylor (Remo) Loosli; 9 step-grandchildren; brother, David (Pat) Hyde; nephews, Greg Hyde and Chris (Lora) Hyde; uncle, Richard (Lois) Hyde, Aunt, Marietta Rohde, cousin, Richard (Andrea) Hyde and numerous additional cousins. 

Family and friends are invited to the Glenville Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 10th from 5 to 7 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7 PM. Burial will be private at the family’s plot at Clifton Park Center Baptist Church.
