Obituary of Priscilla J. Keefner

Priscilla J. Keefner, 79, of Rexford, passed away peacefully at her home on May 4, 2022.

Born in Schenectady on April 21, 1943, she was the loving daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Wojcik) Huzar. A 1961 graduate of Shenendehowa High School, she married Kenneth Carlton Keefner. They had a son, Kenny Keefner Jr.and resided in Rexford.

Priscilla was a homemaker and took great pride in her health, including exercise classes and that healthy glow she carried her entire life. She was a talented artist and painted nature scenes and portraits in acrylics mostly. She would paint large murals on bare walls that took weeks or even months to finish. She loved animals and kept geese, goats, rabbits and ferrets on her property. She always had a cat and/or a dog to look after also. Priscilla enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, but her greatest JOY was watching her two grandchildren, Kenny and Emma grow up. She was a volunteer for several area organizations and churches. As a certified entertainment clown, she donated her time at charitable events. She will be best remembered as giving herself to others and expecting nothing in return.

Predeceased by her parents, she leaves behind her son, Kenny C. Keefner Jr. and her cherished daughter-in-law Sandee, grandchildren, Kenny Keefner III and Emma Reese Keefner; her sisters, Pat Fernald, Sonia (Robert) Retajczyk and Shirley DeMartino; and former husband, Kenneth Keefner Sr.

She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins. Priscilla’s wishes were to be cremated and no public services held. Instead she would ask for those remembering her to do a good deed for a stranger.

Contributions in her name may be made to APF, 53 Maple Avenue Scotia, NY 12302.

Her arrangements are to be carried out through the Glenville Funeral Home of Scotia-Glenville, NY.
