Obituary of Jeanette Gordon

Jeanette Fitzgerald Gordon ScotiaJeanette Fitzgerald Gordon, 84, of Glenville, passed away at Baptist Health, Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Born in Ticonderoga, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Annette Whitcomb Fitzgerald. Jeanette graduated from Hague Central High School and attended Plattsburgh State Teachers College. She married Stanley R. Gordon on October 16, 1948 (That Special Year!) in Plattsburgh, NY. The Gordons have lived in Syracuse, Amsterdam, NY and in Van Nuys, CA. The couple moved to Glenville in 1969. The Gordon's were parishioners of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Mrs. Gordon was a member of the Scotia-Glenville Senior Citizens Center and volunteered her time at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital in Schenectady. Jeanette was proud of her Irish heritage. She took a great interest in gardening and crafting and enjoyed store shopping. Her family was the center of her life, raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she cherished so greatly. Survivors include her husband, Stanley R. Gordon; her daughter, Judith A. Gordon of Scotia; her son, Joseph H. Gordon of Glastonbury, CT; her grandchildren, Eric (Melissa) and Christopher Sagendorf, Trisha Gordon and Jennifer (Dawn DeMerchant) Gordon; her great-grandchildren, Zachary and Jake Sauer, Cassandra, Brooklyn and Austin Gordon, and Maddox Sagendorf. She leaves behind her sister, Ethel Baillargeon of Lake Placid; and brother, Martin Fitzgerald of Sabbath Day Point, NY. She was predeceased by her siblings, Charles Fitzgerald, Elizabeth Whitford, and Ella Leavett. A memorial celebration of her life will be held privately at the convenience of the family at the Glenville Funeral Home. Reverend Jerome Gingras will officiate. There will be no prior calling hours.
