Obituary of Angelo S. Grasso

Angelo S. Grasso, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 13, 2022 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Schenectady he was the son of the late Angelo and Elizabeth (Fusco) Grasso. Angelo was a 1950 graduate of Nott Terrace High School and went on to continue his education at Schenectady County Community College. He proudly defended his country in the United States Army. Angelo married his beloved wife Marcia (Kipp) Grasso on December 13, 1958. He worked for General Electric for 40 years retiring in 1990 as an Employee Relations Manager. Angelo was a former member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a Cub Scout leader. He enjoyed golfing, sailing, the New York Yankees, going to the Glenville Senior Center and his vegetable gardens. Above all, he cherished the time he was able to spend with his family. Angelo will be fondly remembered for his charismatic, charming and loving demeanor.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Marcia Grasso, his children Teri Shope, Mark Grasso (Lisabeth), Scott Grasso (Susan) and Lori Pike (Scott). His grandchildren Braun Horner (Elizabeth), Chelsea Passmore, Brandon Grasso (Sam), Andrew Grasso (Genevieve), Anthony Marchesiello (Jakki), Nicholas Marchesiello (Sammy), Danielle Grasso, Emily Sempf (Noah), Amber Quinn (Michael) and Rebeccah Gilmore (Matthew). Many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents Angelo was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Joseph Grasso, Anthony Grasso, Mary Samek, Concetta Grasso and Anna May Burn.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the entire staff of Saratoga Hospital especially the 3rd floor along with Saratoga Oncology for the wonderful care Angelo received.

Calling hours will be held on July 21, 2022 from 12 – 2pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road Glenville. A funeral service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home. Entombment with military honors will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Angelo’s name may be made to the Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38148-0142.
