Obituary of Barrie M. Daniels

Glenville- Barrie M. Daniels, 86 of Glenville passed away peacefully on Friday,
August 5, 2022, at her home.
Born on January 17, 1936, in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late
Stephen and Catherine (Gier) McGivney.
Barrie was a lifelong resident of the area and attended local schools, graduating
from Mont Pleasant High School, Class of 1954 and Mohawk Valley Technical
College, Class of 1956.
She worked for many years at the Carl Company in Willowbrook Plaza in the
children’s department as a sales associate. Barrie went on to work as a clerk for the
New York State Department of Corrections for 17 years until her retirement.
Barrie was a former communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in
Glenville. She always looked forward to visiting the Burnt Hills Cafe after church
with her family.
She enjoyed taking long car rides, retail shopping with her daughter, Debbie and
going to various garage sales with her daughter-in-law, Deb. Barrie also collected
teddy bears and different dolls over the years.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles,
who passed away a few days after their 60 th wedding anniversary on September 25,
2016. Barrie was also predeceased by her son, Thomas Daniels who passed on
June 9, 1997, and her sister, Patricia Archambault.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Daniel) Lolik of Burnt Hills, Jeffrey
(Debra) Daniels of Burnt Hills and Joel Daniels of Glenville; grandchildren,
Nathan (Amanda) Lolik of Clifton Park, Jacob Lolik of East Greenbush, Zachary
Daniels of Warrensburg, and Amanda Daniels of Burnt Hills; great- grandchildren,
Kyle, Hayden, and Milo Lolik of Clifton Park; sisters, Phyllis Briscoe of Brewster,
MA and Carol Grande of Bennington, VT. Barrie is also survived by many nieces
and nephews.
A graveside service for Charles and Barrie will be held on their wedding
anniversary, Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Cemetery,
Glenville.
Barrie’s family would like to thank the staff of The Community Hospice for their
wonderful care given to their mother.
Deb and Dan, Jeff and Deb thank our brother, Joel, for his dedication and devotion
in the care of dad and then mom over the years. He gave so much so that they
could be at home in a safe, loving place throughout their health struggles. We will
forever be grateful.
