Obituary of Cindy Leah Kennedy

Schenectady- Cindy Leah Kennedy (nee: Relyea), 64, passed away peacefully August 16, 2022 at Westchester Medical Center. Born on September 15, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Merwin and Bertha (Selleck) Relyea. Cindy graduated in 1974 from Mont Pleasant High School and worked as a dental assistant for many years. 

She married on September 22, 1979, to Garry P. Kennedy at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (Bellevue). Always active and vivacious, Cindy enjoyed dancing, attending Broadway shows, exercising daily and the joy of watching her children grow up.  Cindy found a love for the Wizard of Oz and enjoyed trips with her husband to Myrtle Beach where she regularly would visit the Tanger Outlets for shopping. A genuine personality with uncanny recognition of names and faces throughout her life, when she met you..she remembered you!

Survivors include her husband, Garry P. Kennedy, her children Brendan Kennedy and Chelsea Kennedy; her cherished granddaughter, Rowan Kennedy; a brother, Carl Relyea and sister Debbie Kilmer (Bill).  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 24 from 6-8pm at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. East Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited the following day to a luncheon at Ancient Order of the Hibernians, 1748 State Street in Schenectady NY beginning at 2:30pm.
