Obituary of Mildred Irene Morgan

Mildred “Milly” Morgan, 92, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Homestead, PA she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Irene (Spontak) Gresko. Raised in Munhall, PA she was a 1948 graduate of Munhall High School. Milly married her beloved late husband George Morgan on July 19, 1952. Together they shared 42 years of marriage until his passing in 1994. While raising her family she was a dedicated homemaker. After raising her children, she went on to continue her education becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mildred worked at the Heritage Home for Women in Schenectady as an Administrator and the Schenectady City Schools in curriculum materials.

Milly was devout in her faith and cherished her relationship with Christ. She lived her faith daily. Mildred was a faithful communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville for over 50 years. She served in the Eucharistic Ministry; faith formation, the rosary altar society and the Third Order of the Franciscans. She also was involved in the Pashley Players and the Glen Hills Swimming Club. Milly loved the seashore and found great joy in travelling places such as family trips to the Jersey Shore, Maine, Italy, Europe, Hawaii and Alaska. Mildred was an avid cook and baker and was proud to share her Slovakian roots.  She also enjoyed playing the piano and playing cards with friends. Above all Milly loved her family and friends and cherished the time she was able to spend with them. Her sense of humor along with her warm and caring demeanor will be remembered by all that knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Joe Morgan and Mary Kathryn Ormiston (Kenneth). Also, her cherished grandchildren Aidan Ormiston, Skylar Morgan and Griffin Morgan.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband George F. Morgan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 26,2022 at 1pm at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville. Family and friends may call at the church prior to the Mass from 12pm to 1pm.  Interment will be next to her husband George at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
