Obituary of Martin “Marty” Grover

Martin “Marty” W. Grover, 68, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on October 2, 2022. Born in Washington DC he was the son of the late Herbert and Margaret (Keogh) Grover. Marty was a 1972 graduate of Altamont High School and went on to proudly defend his country in the United States Army from 1973-1976. He continued his education, becoming a Registered Nurse. Marty was a RN for 14 years and then went to work for Sealed Air in Scotia. He married his beloved wife Diane (Orlando) Grover, and they spent 30 wonderful years together with 22 of those years married.

 Marty enjoyed camping, birdwatching, sitting in the sun, gardening and cookouts. He found great happiness whenever he was in nature. Marty had a deep passion for music, he was able to name almost every song and who the artist was. He passed his love for music to his children and brothers. Marty also found excitement watching MMA fighting with his son Shane. Above all he cherished the time he was able to spend with his family. His sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him.

Left to honor his memory is his wife Diane Grover, children Shane Grover, Marie Gainey (Derrick) and Sean Grover. His stepchildren Crystal Adams (John) and Gary “Jay” Ambrose (Cheryl). Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, his brothers Steve Grover (Maureen) and John Grover along with several nieces and nephews.

There will be no formal funeral services.
