Obituary of Melissa Marie Parks

Melissa Marie Parks, 58, passed away suddenly at her home on October 12, 2022.Born in Niskayuna she was the daughter of the late Richard and Jean Parks. Melissa was a 1982 graduate of Scotia Glenville High School and went on to continue her education at Schenectady County Community College. She worked for many years at the Gifford Abstract Company in Schenectady. Melissa enjoyed gardening, cooking, swimming at the YMCA and decorating her home. She had an undeniably beautiful outlook on life, and she lived hers unconditionally loving all the people in it. People were drawn to her warm encompassing demeanor. Above all, Melissa cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and friends. Melissa was a dedicated, sacrificial, and loving mother and grandmother. She exemplified this motherly kindness and care in many areas of her life and in many relationships which extended well beyond her immediate family. She will be greatly missed by all. 

Left to honor Melissa are her children Sean Kinnally (Ember) and Lindsey Kinnally. Also surviving are her grandchildren Brynn, Clayton and Caleb Kinnally, longtime companion and partner, Dennis Wantuch, sisters Darlene Bigelow (Jack) and Renee Parks, feline companion Sofie as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Dawn Parks, Richard Parks and Noalle Brown.

Calling hours for Melissa will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 12pm-3pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road Glenville.
