Obituary of Jacqueline F. Conway

Niskayuna- Jacqueline “Jackie” F. Conway, 71 of Niskayuna passed away Friday, October 14, 2022. 

Born on December 11, 1950 in Schenectady, NY she was the daughter of the late Harold and Wanda (Pentkowski) Jahoda.

Jackie was a lifelong resident of the Capital District. She graduated from Notre Dame High School, in 1968 and went on to receive her Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from SUNY Farmingdale in 1970. 

After her career in dental hygiene, she stayed home to raise her three children and devoted herself to them throughouttheir upbringing. 

Jackie always had a passion for education. Later, shecontinued her career as a Teaching Assistant in special education, spending many dedicated years in the Niskayuna School District, until her retirement in 2018. After retirement, Jackie still pursued her love for reading and teaching by volunteering as a reading tutor with The Reading is Fun Program at Keene Elementary School. 

Jackie was an avid reader, enjoyed a good joke, and spending time with her dearest friends. She often looked forward to traveling to Florida to visit her daughter, Shannon, and her family. Jackie also enjoyed watching Penn State Football, where her daughter, Courtney,attended. In most recent years, spending time with her beloved grandchildren was one of her favorite things to do. 

She is survived by her children, Courtney (Gerald) Craig, Shannon (Charles) Allen and Devin Conway; grandchildren, Kylie Craig, Logan Craig and Natalie Allen; and siblings, John (Beth) Jahoda, Barbara Jahoda, Frank Jahoda, Christopher Jahoda and Michael Jahoda. 

Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm, with a memorial service immediately following on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville, NY.
