Obituary of Michael J. Pedone

Michael J. Pedone of Scotia, age 72, passed from this life on October 18, 2022 after a long battle with emphysema.

 

Born on August 4, 1950, Michael grew up in Scotia. Michael graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School in 1970. Following his graduation, Michael became a volunteer firefighter for the Village of Scotia, where he served for 10 years. Firefighting became a passion and he joined the Schenectady Fire Department where he served with distinction for 20 years, until his retirement.

 

Michael spent much time camping in his beloved Adirondack Mountains with his motorhome, and was especially entranced by the beauty and majesty of Lake George, where he spent over 31 years boating and camping on the lake and its islands.

 

Being an avid sports fan, Michael was always rooting for his NASCAR favorite, Jeff Gordon, or his football favorites, the Dallas Cowboys, or for baseball, the New York Yankees.

 

Michael is predeceased by his long-time love, Marilyn Stanley, his parents Fred and Theresa and his brother Robert. He is survived by his sisters Olivia Mart and Susan Hall and his brothers Fred (Mary) Pedone and Peter Pedone.

 

Viewing will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home on Monday, October 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., funeral services will follow at 12pm ath the funeral home. Michael will be laid to rest at the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Michael J. Pedone to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38148-0142.
