Casimir Czach

Obituary of Casimir F. Czach

Casimir F. Czach, 74, passed away on October 26, 2022, after a short illness. He was born in Amsterdam, NY, on February 12, 1948, to Edward and Katherine (Sikora) Czach. He graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School, followed by SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Oneonta, where he earned degrees in chemistry and earth science.

Casimir married Carol Weinman on July 22, 1972, and they had a son and a daughter. For most of his career he was employed at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) in Niskayuna, where he was proud to work on U.S. Navy submarines.

Casimir enjoyed playing bass and keyboards for the Revelaires, a polka band that included his father, brother and son. He had an impressive album collection of classic jazz/R&B/soul music, and he passed his love of music to his children.

During his retirement, Casimir stayed busy building model airplanes, watching Mets games and reading about military history.

He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Carol Czach of Niskayuna; his children, son Brian Czach and daughter-in-law Tintin Czach of Nashville, daughter Elaine (Czach) Ahmed and son-in-law Mairaj Ahmed of New Jersey; and grandchildren Taylor, Aamir, Rania and Zaara. He is also survived by his brother Frank Czach and sister-in-law Evelyn Czach of Amsterdam, and brother Edward Czach of Pasadena, CA.
