Glenville- Paul G. Kant, 83, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2022 at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Kaunas, Lithuania he was the son of the late Julius and Lydia (Brockert) Kant. Paul immigrated to the United States when he was 15 years old and was a 1959 graduate of Niskayuna High School. He went on to continue his education at Buffalo State Teachers College obtaining a master’s degree. Paul’s creativity was able to enrich the lives of many students with his dedicated career as an Art Teacher. He taught for Sweet Home School District in Erie County, in Worcester, MA and Niskayuna Central School District. He retired from Niskayuna School District in 1993 after many years. Paul was an exquisite artist; his paintings and sculptures were the focal point of many art shows, and he was always eager to share his talent.  He was one of the founders of Niskaday, a very special day among the residents of Niskayuna. Paul was the founder of Owl Creek Polo Club and had a deep connection with animals, especially horses and his dogs Crisscross, Bull, Jerry Lee and Sadie. He was an international soccer player and enjoyed traveling the world. Paul was a great storyteller and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Paul is survived by his partner of 22 years Donna DaPolito, his children Wayne Kant (Nancy) and Wendy Carroll (Jon), Donna’s children Daniel DaPolito (Diane), Mary DaPolito and Laura DaPolito (Jim). Also surviving are his grandchildren Jennifer, Kate, Madeline, Jacob and Thomas. Paul was an integral part of his grandchildren's lives, teaching them to embrace life fearlessly.
