Obituary of Richard S. Dempsky

Richard S. Dempsky, 76, of Amsterdam, originally of Scotia, passed away suddenly November 4, 2022.  Rick was born in Schenectady to the late Felix (Phil) and Helen (Roiki) Dempsky.

 

  A 1964 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, shortly after Rick became employed as a machinist for Campbell Plastics in Schenectady, he worked for the manufacturing company for over 33 years. Rick was also a Business Agent for IUE Local #318.

 

  Throughout his life Rick enjoyed going to his camp with family, attending car shows and loved riding his Harley. He was fond of animals and would rescue any he could. 

 

 He leaves behind his beloved children; Richard "Bucky" Dempsky and his wife Joanne, Lisa Pitts and her husband, Jeffrey and six cherished grandchildren: Logan, Braydon,Mason, Lucas, Marek and London. Rick is survived by his beloved companion of 7 years, Arlene Stankavich and his former wife and mother of his children, Susan Dempsky. 

 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 13th at 2 PM in the chapel of Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Scotia-Glenville. The Rev. Dominic P. Isopo will preside.  Calling hours will follow service until 4:30 PM.
 
 A procession will begin on Monday, November 14th at 9 AM from the Glenville Funeral Home parking lot then proceed to Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, A graveside prayer service to be conducted at 10 AM. 

 

 With his deep love of animals, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to APF, 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
