Obituary of Craig Thomas Weber

Craig Thomas Weber, 68, of Glenville passed peacefully on December 2, 2022. Born in Calumet Park, Illinois to his late parents, Thomas L. and Marian (Bauch) Weber. In 1972, he graduated from Dwight D Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, IL.

From an early age, Craig was a true American patriot. A 1976 graduate of the United States Navy Academy, Craig was at the top of his class and received honors. During his extensive study of engineering, mathematics, marine sciences and government, Craig also played on the Naval Academy hockey team— he was a talented goalie!

He entered the United States Navy immediately after his higher education in 1976, he proudly served active duty until 1984. He later returned to serve his country in the United States Reserves. The military was a huge part of Craig’s life, he fondly remembers the experiences he was given during this period in his life; he often told stories of his life living on the military submarines.

Craig was a brilliant man, he worked as an engineer his entire life. In the late 1980s, his family moved to Burnt Hills, New York where he began his long career at Knolls Atomic Power Lab.

Throughout his life, Craig stayed active. He continued playing hockey on recreational teams, travelling to National Parks, and was an avid hiker, who achieved Mount Kilimanjaro. He also was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville, NY.

Craig was a dedicated father and grandfather, his family meant everything to him. His son, Kevin, and him traveled to Yellowstone National Park, where they enjoyed the great outdoors; they also enjoyed boating on Sacandage Lake together. He had a strong group of friends, whom he travelled often with. Craig lived for new experiences and spending time with those he loved was most important to him.

The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Brookdale Niskayuna and those whom helped Craig throughout his Alzheimer journey. Craig was a fighter until the end, in honor of him memorial donations may be made to the Northeastern New York Alzheimer's Association, 1003 Loudon Rd, Cohoes, NY 12047.

To continue his legacy is his beloved son and daughter-in-law, Kevin T. (Jaclyn) Weber; cherished grandchildren, Dylan and Carson Weber; brother, Michael (Sue) Weber.
