Obituary of Danette N. Brown

Danette N. Brown, born June 15, 1967 in Manhattan, NY went to be with her Lord on December 12, 2022. 

Danette was the daughter of Thomas Brown, Sr. (predeceased) and Dorothy Brown Lawson. Danette was the “apple of her father’s eye”. She was the beloved sister of Jerome Brown (predeceased), Thomas (Tommy) Brown, James Brown (predeceased), Wendell (Kim) Brown, Duquice (Raymond) Brown (predeceased), Nakia Christian, and Shannell and Batrice Brown.

She was the “auntie” of Roddy, KK, Megan, Sonai, Wendell Jr., Noah, Ughmani and Princess Ughmekka, Jasmine, Jeanelle, and James Jr. all of whom she adored.

Danette loved enormously her sister and best friend, Karin Winbush, who spent the past years caring for Danette with tremendous love and tenderness. 

While living in Manhattan, Danette sang with the Rainbow Spirit Gospel Group. Upon moving to Schenectady, Danette worked for the Capital Region BOCES and Living Resources. In Schenectady, she was the beloved teacher of Girls Inc.

Danette was saved at the age of fourteen and spent her life loving and serving Jesus Christ. She knew the powerful love of her Savior and is in glory with Him now and for all eternity. She was a beloved member of Trinity Baptist Church in Niskayuna, NY.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, December 15th from 12 to 2 PM at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd, funeral service will begin at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Vale Cemetery in Schenectady, NY.
