Obituary of Carol Mosher

Carol B. Mosher, 72, passed away October 22, 2013 at Ellis Hospital. Carol was born in Troy, NY on April 22, 1941, the daughter of the late William and Bernice Litchfield Film. She began her education in Troy before moving to Schenectady and graduating from Linton High School. Carol married Donald Mosher on June 20, 1962 and thereafter began working for the Governor's office followed by the Saratoga Department of Human Services. Carol took time from working to raise her family and eventually joined the Office of Temporary Disability Assistance in Albany, retiring from a social work career that spanned 40 years. Carol will forever be remembered as a devoted homemaker and caregiver for her family whose life revolved around her grandchildren, her pride and joy. Even when physically humbled by her illness, Carol would always find time for visits to museums, sporting events, etc., bringing much happiness to her and her family. She never would deny them her time and attention. Carol displayed a keen sense for finding street addresses, becoming her family's go to "map quest" when a destination was in question. Always thinking of her family, each week Carol would place envelopes on her kitchen counter with the names of her boys written on them and containing coupons carefully cut out from magazines and flyers. Among her many interests were: gardening, being outside and just enjoying nature, as well as her love of animals, especially dogs including her pet Labradors. Carol is lovingly survived by her husband Donald; sons: Donald S. Mosher and wife Theresa, David A. Mosher and wife Erica; and grandchildren: David "D.J." and Kayla Mosher. Her brother William (Cheryl) Film of Esperance, brother-in-law John Mosher of Cincinnati, OH and special niece Amanda Skop as well as other nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday October 25 at 11 AM from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville with Rev. Holly Nye officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the Glenville Funeral Home Thursday (Oct. 24) from 6 PM to 8 PM. Interment will take place at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
