Emma wasn’t just a Union hockey fan. She loved the Yankees, too. Once upon a time Johnny Damon played for the Red Sox. Emma didn’t like to watch the Yankees Red Sox games in those days because she couldn’t stand seeing Johnny and his long hair. She made mention of this to me more than once. The day they announced that Johnny was traded to to Yankees, my first thought was of Emma! What was she going to do now? Fortunately she didn’t have to give up her Yankees. Johnny cut his hair (maybe just for her!?) This is my fondest memory of the sweetest woman I know! Enjoy your eternal rest, Emma

I first met Emma when she worked at Knight's Orchards; she was always so friendly and had time to chat with my Mom & me. We became reacquainted when she and my husband, Kernan Davis, were in the same memoirs writing group at the Town of Ballston Library. Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers as you say goodbye to your loving Emma in this life's journey. I love the message of being a second Mom to someone, and will try to do this to honor Emma. May you feel God's love and comfort. With sympathy, Liz Dobson-Davis
