Obituary of Yvonne R. Boyd

Yvonne R. Boyd, 94, of Glenville passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023. Born in Schenectady, NY to her late parents, Eugene J. And Ruth M.(Forslund) Francois. A 1946 graduate from Scotia-Glenville High School, she continued her education at Hartwick College. 

She married the love of her life, Hugh F. Boyd on April 8, 1949. For 72 years, Hugh and Yvonne were inseparable, together they created a beautiful family and countless memories. Sadly in 2021, Hugh passed away, it brings their family peace knowing they are reunited.

Yvonne raised her family in Rotterdam, NY, she was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family fondly remembers boating and enjoying their camp on Sacandaga Lake. Yvonne was an accomplished pianist and organist. 

For many years, she worked for Diet Workshop as the office facilitator. In her spare time, she volunteered at Home Furnishing in Schenectady and stayed active in women’s groups at her beloved church, First Reformed Church of Scotia, where she was a long time member.

Yvonne was a beautiful person, well into her 90s she still remained fashionable and always put together. She will be missed by many, including the loving, devoted staff of Glendale Nursing Home—she was a bingo queen!

Predeceased by her loving husband, Hugh F. Boyd and son Jeffrey Boyd.

To continue her memory are her children, Brad (Joanne) Boyd of Mesa, AZ and Deborah (Robert) Bull of Syracuse, NY; grandchildren, Jessica Bull, Emily (Jerry) Schrott, Erin Harris (Chris Martini), Steve Boyd (Kristan Partel), Brian Boyd (Meghan Doherty), Jenette (Matthew) Logan, Melissa Boyd; 9 cherished great-grandchildren; cherished sister, Jacqueline Habel. 

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 24th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 PM officiated by Pastor Jason White of First Reformed Church. Services will be LIVE streamed on Glenville Funeral Home's facebook page. Vehicles will drive in procession to the Gerald B.H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery for a 2:30 PM committal service.
