Obituary of Kathleen (Grandy) Quinn

Kathleen Ann (Grandy) Quinn, 85, of Glenville NY; passed away on February 21, 2023, at Ellis Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Schenectady, NY; on January 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Imelda Moffett. Kathleen was also predeceased by her husband’s James Grandy and Peter Quinn as well as her 6 siblings Jim Moffett, George Moffett, Don Moffett, Helen Clark, Virginia Stanley, and Marilyn Slater.

Kathleen married James Grandy in October 1957. Together they built a family of ten children. James, Shawn (Peggy), Lori (Late Michael), Susan (Billy), Kacey (Mark), Pam (Frank),

Patty (Tim), Kyle (Kim), Jennifer and Michael. Jim passed suddenly in 1985. In May 1988 she married Peter Quinn joining his three children creating a family of 15. Bradley (Claire), Lynda, Kelly (Porter). Kathleen and Peter were married until Peter’s passing in 2021. They were proud grandparents of 34 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Kathleen enjoyed traveling with her husband Peter, including a trip to Ireland for their 25th anniversary. She enjoyed golfing, shopping and playing games on her back porch, but Kathleen’s main passion and source of joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was always full of family, it was a place of unconditional love, warmth, laughter, and happiness.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Ellis ICU for their excellent care and compassion during Kathleen’s final days.

The Grandy and Quinn families will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, February 26th from 3 pm. to 7 pm., at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville.

Funeral Services will occur on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 9:30 am. at St Joseph's Church, 231 Second St. Scotia, NY.

Interment will take place at The Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna immediately following the services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Kathleen can be made to the St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38148-0142.
