Jane Woodward

Obituary of Jane Anne Woodward

Jane Anne Woodward, of Ballston Lake, NY passed away happy and proud of her life on April 1, 2023; she was surrounded by love and family. She is the loving daughter of Richard Earl and Doris Marie (Smith) Woodward, and she was blessed to have been gifted her stepmom, Joan Woodward; there is peace in knowing Jane is reunited with them again. Her parents, children and grandchildren were the foundation of her life, who inspired her to become the woman she became.

A 1974 graduate of Niskayuna High School, she continued her education with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Sienna College. Her strong work ethic began in high school at the CO-OP of Niskayuna. Shortly after, she began her career with OTB as the secretary to David Etkins. Her experience at Off-Track Betting prepared her for her dream of owning her own business—she will forever be grateful for the knowledge and support she received in becoming a Certified Public Accountant from OTB and her family, especially her father.

Throughout her career, Jane demonstrated remarkable skills in managing numbers and providing exceptional customer relations. In 1986, Jane achieved her dream of being a business owner when she established Jane Woodward, CPA, PC in Ballston Lake. Jane proudly continued her father's legacy as a CPA and the representative for the Town of Round Lake. Jane's clients became like family, and her work was truly her passion, it wasn’t work to her!

Shortly after establishing her business, she became a mother, her most sacred role of all. Her children were her pride and joy, and no matter what, she made sure she was there to support them. She loved the Ballston Lake area, where she raised her children and business; it reminded her of Bradt Street in Rexford, her childhood neighborhood where everyone knew each other and countless friendships were made.

Her favorite friendship, however, was Kevin Sienka, who played an integral role in her life. Their relationship began as friends in high school and blossomed into love, which they shared through their many travels together, including trips to Colorado and cruises to the Caribbean. Jane and Kevin were a perfect match, complementing each other even in the kitchen while cooking. They also shared an unconditional love for their dog, Lila.

Jane was a force to be reckon with, not only because she was a 2nd-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, but because she had motivation and love at the root of her.  She instilled the values of hard work and passionate commitment in her children and will forever serve as a reminder that you can do it all as long as you work hard and be kind!

Jane Anne Woodward's life serves as an inspiration to us all. Her passion, courage, and love were evident in everything she did, from her career to her relationships and personal pursuits. As we remember Jane, let us carry her spirit with us and strive to embody the same qualities that made her such a remarkable woman.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Lauren Crabbe and Shannon Wood; cherished grandsons, Dillon and Charles McIntyre; brothers, Henry (Linda) Woodward and Doug (Sue) Woodward; best friend and partner for life, Kevin Sienka, and his sons, Lee and Sean Sienka.
