So sorry for your family's loss as well as the loss to the community of a wonderful human being. I had Mr. Hyland for sixth grade in 1967-68. Every day was fun and unique! Teaching for Mr. H was interactive, not just talking at the class. I remember spirited discussions of civil rights and an assignment to write a poem about a photo from Life Magazine. Not to mention frequent updates on the Yankees and watching part of the World Series! I had a very large pet albino rabbit named Buttons. A year or so later Mr. H was looking for rabbits for his kids for Easter. He was short one rabbit and adopted Buttons for the kids. He will live on in my memory.
