Obituary of Steven Antal PhD

Dr. Steven P. Antal, age 54, went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Teaneck, NJ on June 12, 1959 to Frances Antal and the late Frank Antal. Steve grew up in Bergenfield, NJ, graduating in 1977 from Bergenfield High School where his passion was football. After graduating high school, Steve attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) where he received his bachelors, masters, and eventually his PhD in mechanical engineering. On May 23, 1981, Steve married his high school sweetheart, Lori Edson and they relocated to Troy, NY for Steve to continue his education, and have lived in different areas throughout the capital district for the last 32 years. Steve was an engineer at KAPL for the last 31 years, and also held a position at RPI as a Research Professor for the last 10 years, where he enjoyed working with the students. He was also fortunate enough to have started his own engineering consulting business, Interphase Dynamics, with a computer code that he authored. He is a member of the American Nuclear Society. Besides computers, Steve enjoyed working with his son on restoring his 1967 Camaro, coaching recreation softball with his daughters, camping in the Schoharie Valley, vacations with his family at the Jersey Shore, and watching his favorite team, the New York Giants. Steve's business also allowed him to travel worldwide with his loving wife. Steve is survived by his wife, Lori A. Antal; children, Jennifer Antal of Glenville, Lisa (Ernest) Seabury of Brunswick, and Kevin J. Antal of Glenville. He is also survived by his mother, Frances Antal of Howell, NJ; siblings, Frank (Carol) Antal of Scottsdale, AZ, Patricia (Alex) Diaz of Spring Lake Heights, NJ, and Linda Meyers of Howell, NJ, and several nieces and nephews. Steve leaves behind his "special" girls; Lexi, Lola, and Bella.
