Obituary of Marion Plaus
Marion Elizabeth Plaus, of Burnt Hills, NY, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2013, at the Baptist Nursing Home in Scotia, NY.
Marion was born to the late William and Margaret Joos, June 20, 1925, in Schenectady, NY. Marion is survived by her loving and devoted husband, William E. Plaus, whom she married on March 20, 1948. Marion graduated from Draper High School in 1941, after which she worked for General Electric in Schenectady and
Syracuse for thirteen years. In 1954, Marion and Bill began raising a family.
Left to cherish her loving memory are their three children, William Plaus and his wife Maria Creavin of Denver, Colorado, Peggy Plaus and her husband Bill Kirschner of Parker, Colorado, and Marianne Plaus of Broadlands, VA; and her two sisters, Marguerite Porter of Rexford and Susan MacNeil of Schenectady. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Alana, Joseph, and Deirdre Plaus and Mackenzie Kirschner.
Marion was a kind and gentle soul who was devoted to her family. She was one of the first volunteers for Meals on Wheels in the Burnt Hills area and frequently volunteered to seek donations for various charitable organizations. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and writing poems, several of which were published.
Marion had a deep and abiding faith and was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
There will be no calling hours. On Wednesday November 13, 2013, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville. Marion will be buried at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Schenectady, NY.
