Obituary of Daniel Smith

Daniel "Dan" Smith, 45, of Rotterdam, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday November 12, 2013 at Ellis Hospital. Dan was born in Saratoga Springs, the son of Lewis and Linda Reinhart. He was a graduate of Amsterdam High School and the State University of New York at Albany. Dan worked for Niagara Mohawk and then for Verizon for 15 years. He was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the NY Yankees and the NY Knicks, as well as being a devoted fan and follower of the group Rush. Dan was a devoted father who enjoyed spending time with his children. Throughout the years, Dan has continued to spend time on a yearly camping trip in the summer with "The Fabulous Six", friends from both elementary school and high school. Survivors include his parents Lewis and Linda Reinhart, his son Aaron and daughter Hannah, sister Michele Killough and her companion Jeff Piurek, nephew Christopher Killough and niece Caitlin Killough, a special cousin Stephen Patti, as well several other cousins. Dan's canine companion Jeter also survives. He was predeceased by his grandparents: George and Kathleen Streeter, Eleanor and Thomas Cutrone, Funeral services will begin at 9:30 am on Saturday November 16, 2013 from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., East Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited to call on the family at the funeral home from 5 - 8 pm on Friday November 15, 2013. Interment will take place in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenridge Rd, Glenville.
