Gerald D. (Gerry) Seypura 72, of Glenville passed away suddenly at his home on November 12, 2013. Gerald was a member of the community of Glenville for eleven years, but lived in the Schenectady area most of his life. He was an active member of the Niskayuna Fire Department for twenty years as a volunteer fireman. He was also an avid NRA advocate. Gerald was retired from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets after twenty five years of service. Upon his retirement, he decided to remain busy and became a school bus driver for the special needs children of Schenectady County with Brown Transportation Company until his passing. Gerald served in the Army National Guard for over twenty years; served in the Persian Gulf, and was a liaison for the Department of Military and Naval Affairs administration, as the Public Affairs Coordinator. Gerald served as Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America and has been an active member, leader and contributor to the organization for over sixty years. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Glenville where he found friendships and comradery he so enjoyed as well as the American Legion in Scotia. Gerald also enjoyed baseball and frequently spent time at the Cooperstown Hall of Fame for games and special events. He was a true Yankees fan. Gerald graduated from St. Columbus High School, and after many years of continuing education had secured a Ph.D in education. He shared his wealth of knowledge and opinion with many, articulately and with zeal. He very much enjoyed books, Celtic music, photography and most especially spending time with his loving family. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend. Gerald was predeceased by his parents Donald Seypura and Geraldine (Carr) Seypura- Mahoney. He is survived by his brother Paul A.
