Obituary of Catherine Sayne

Catherine A. Sayne, 98, formerly of Glenville, died November 19, 2013 at Our Lady of Mercy Care Center, Guilderland, from natural causes. Born on November 1, 1915 in Schenectady, Mrs. Sayne moved to Glenville in 1950. Her husband, Walter Sayne, whom she married on June 12, 1933, died in August of 1999. Survivors include her son, Martin W. Sayne and his wife, Jacquelyn A. of Gloversville, NY; two grandchildren, Gina Marie Doninger and her husband, Christopher of Bristow, VA and Michael David Sayne of Ocean, NJ; four great-grandchildren, Erin Grace and Ryan Walter of Bristow, VA and Catherine Elizabeth and Michael Jack of Wall, NJ; sister-in-law, Gloria Wheeler, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Catherine was predeceased by two sisters, Sister Mary Berchmans, C.R. and Frances Roman and five brothers, Stanley Wheeler, Marion Kolakowski, John E. Wheeler, George Wheeler and Teddy T. Wheeler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville with the Rev. Jerome Gingras officiating. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the church. Catherine will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Walter, at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Hamburg St. in Rotterdam. Arrangements are under the direction of the Glenville Funeral Home, Michael E. DeMarco, Director. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Catherine Sayne's name to Sisters of the Ressurection, 35 Boltwood Avenue Castleton, NY 12033
