Obituary of Donald Mosher
Donald G. Mosher, 73, of Paradwoski Rd., passed away unexpectedly on November 23, 2013, his loving family by his side. Donald was born in Troy, NY on March 24, 1940, the son of the late Graydon C. and Kathryn Holmes Mosher. He grew up in Watervliet where he attended Watervliet High School, excelling in sports; and was a minor league baseball player in the Twilight League. Following high school, Donald enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served as a standby during the Bay of Pigs crisis. He married the former Carol Film on June 20, 1962. Early in his life, Donald learned carpentry skills from his grandfather and used his craft in the building trade, building seven homes from scratch and remodeling many homes in the Glenville/Charlton area. Donald owned his own company, Donald Mosher Building and Remodeling. He was an avid hunter, belonging to the the National Rifle Association, a snowmobiler, and a two time NYS pistol shooting champion, as well as an avid dog lover with an interest in Labrador retrievers.
Donald's beloved wife Carol Mosher passed away on October 22. Survivors include his sons, who assisted him through the years in the remodeling business: Donald S. Mosher (Theresa) of Schenectady and David A. Mosher (Erica) of Glenville; his cherished grandchildren: David "D.J." and Kayla Mosher; his brother, John Mosher of Mason, OH, brother-in-law, William Film ( Cheryl) of Esperance. Several nieces and nephews and his devoted Labrador also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 27th at 11 AM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. East Glenville with the Rev. Holly Nye officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited and may call on the family Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
