Obituary of Zofia Mycek

Zofia Mycek passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Ellis Hospital. Zofia was born in Amsterdam, NY, the daughter of the late John Novak and Catherine Knapik Novak. She was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. Zofia worked for the General Electric Co. and then Mayfair Jewelers, from which she retired. Her husband, Joseph, predeceased Zofia in 1998. Survivors include her son, Dennis James Mycek (Leslie); her daughter, Arlene Tamasi (Charles); her granddaughter, Cynthia Hamilton; and grandson, Ryan Tamasi; her niece, Evelyn Czach (Frank); and nephew, Edward Mycek (Dorothy). Zofia's family would like to express their appreciation for the care and attention given to her during her stay on B2 at the Glendale Home. Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., East Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited to call on the family at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 23. Interment will take place in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenridge Rd., Glenville. Memorial contributions in Zofia's name may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
