Obituary of Lebro Tangarone

With immense sadness we announce the passing of Lebro Tangarone, 90, of Schenectady, who died yesterday at Ellis Hospital. Lebro joined his bride just into the calendar date December 29. 2013. Born in Schenectady he was the son of the late Antonio and Carmela DiBartolomeo Tangarone. He attended Nott Terrace High School and later its Printing Program. Lebro met his wife GRACE at G.E., where he was employed about a year before joining the Army. Pvt. 1st class Lebro Tangarone served in proudly in WWII at the "Battle of the Bulge"; Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and the African-Middle Eastern Theatres. He returned to civilian work at the Acme Press and was an active member of the Printing and Graphics Association. Because of his patriotism he was very active in VFW Post 1895, where he was commander for several years. He was also commander of the Schenectady-Schoharie County Council. Lebro was an active member of the Military Order of the Cooties, Polish American Vets and American Legion. Other service clubs included The Loyal Order of the Moose and the International Order of the Oddfellows. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Grace Guarino Tangarone; his sister Rose Tangarone Van Allen, brothers Robert and Frank Tangarone. Survivors include his children: Donna M. West and her husband Thomas of Glenville and Anthony C. Tangarone and his wife Sharon; grandchildren, Lee, Nicole and Daniel West and Paul and Jaclyn (Nicholas) Esposito. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 3rd at 10 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Route 50, Glenville with Rev. Jerome Gingras, principal celebrant. A Mass of Christian Burial will also be celebrated at this time for Grace Tangarone. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. East Glenville Thursday from 4 PM to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, the Tangarone Family requests that donations be made in Grace and Lebro's memory to Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard Association, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY or to Volunteer Services at Stratton VA Medical Center, Holland Avenue, Albany NY. Grace and Lebro will be interred Friday following military honors at the Gerald B.H.
