Obituary of Anna Kapechuk

Anna (nee: Perone) Kapechuk, 88, former resident of Sacandaga Rd., passed away January 1, 2014 at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Gloversville. Anna would have celebrated her 89th birthday on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. She was born in Schenectady on January 7, 1925, the daughter of the late Angelo and Constance Salvati Perone. Anna was married on June 15, 1947 to Walter Theodore Kapechuk and they were life-long area residents. For many years, Anna was employed as an assembler for the small motors and generator division of General Electric. She was a member of the G.E. Athletic Association, the Quarter-Century Club and the former Annie Shaeffer Senior Center as well a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Scotia. Walter and Anna traveled extensively. Anna also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. In addition to her husband, Walter, Anna was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph, Mario and Anthony Perone. She is survived by her son, Walter M. Kapechuk, his wife, Carol and their daughter, Anna Della Kapechuk of Guilderland. She is also survived by her brother, John Perone; as well as several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, January 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Kings Rd., Schenectady.
