Obituary of Margaret Ryan

Margaret Mary Ryan, 99, of Bound Brook and Hillsborough, formerly of Schenectady, NY, died peacefully on January 5, 2014 surrounded by her family. Born in Schenectady, NY on September 6, 1914, she was the daughter of Edward A. and Eva Tessier Ryan. A longtime resident of Schenectady, Margaret graduated from Mont Pleasant High School. She worked for over 30 years as a secretary in the tax office for the State of New York. She resided in New Jersey for the past 14 years. She was a communicant of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church and lifelong member of St. Luke's Rosary Society. She was young at heart, a spirited and spunky lady who had a smile for everyone. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved brother, Edward A Ryan; and her sister, Edwina Ryan. She is survived by her nieces, Karen Riccio and her husband, Lou and Kelly Kearns and her husband, Tom; her nephew, Kevin Ryan and his wife, Debra; and eight great nieces and nephews, to whom she was lovingly known as Madge; Nicole, Michael and Holly Riccio, Christopher and Sean Kearns, Brianna, Sarah and Shauna Ryan. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 in New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 11, at 9 a.m., at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, State St., Schenectady, with Rev. Dominic Isopo officiating. The Rosary Society of the church will serve as honorary pall bearers. Burial will follow in the Ryan plot at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
