Obituary of Eleanor Kerley

Eleanor Frances Roach Kerley, 86, of East Glenville, passed away at The Glendale Home with family by her side on March 8, 2014. Born in Utica, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Francis T. and Eleanor Hurley Roach. Beloved wife of William J. Kerley, Jr. for 63 years, Eleanor was an avid golfer, curler and speed skater. She was a long-time member of both The Edison Club and the Schenectady Curling Club. She enjoyed many summers in Inlet, N.Y. and passed her love of the area along to her four daughters and their families. She attended Syracuse University and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Besides her husband, she is survived by daughters, Patricia Harris (Ronald), Katherine Primeau (Leo), Jane Fleury (Francis) and Margaret de Koning (Kendrik); cherished grandchildren, Lori Jacobsen, Erin Betler, Sarah Oliver, Michele Hill, Katherine DiNicola, Laura DiNicola, Jacqueline Young and Connor Young; and five great-grandchildren. Sister to F. Thomas Roach (Rosanne) and Patricia Kellam, she was predeceased by sister, Eileen Stemm; and brother, James Roach. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 13 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., East Glenville with Fr. Jerome Gingras officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Procession will follow to the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, N.Y.
