Obituary of John Hosty

John A. Hosty, 79, of Saratoga Rd. died peacefully at his home on November 14, 2012 in Glenville. John was born on October 30, 1933 in NYC, the son of the late John and Mary Hosty. John attended vocational schools in NYC and became a carpenter. He never married, but in 1976 decided to go north as much as he could and settled in Glenville, NY. He was a staunch Irish Catholic and became instantly an active member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville. John attended the Holy Name Society meetings at the church and enjoyed the Christmas celebrations yearly. John was indeed adopted by the church family at Immaculate. John was often seen walking to church, even with his limited eyesight progressively getting worse over the years but had a deep sense of commitment to his Heavenly Father. Mr. Hosty was predeceased by his siblings, Harold, Thomas and Jude Hosty, Martha Rooney and Mary Hosty. A Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of John's Soul will be celebrated this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., in Glenville with the the Rev. Jerome Gingras officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Interment will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville, New York. Arrangements are by the Glenville Funeral Home of Scotia-Glenville.
