Obituary of Arnold Glover

Arnold Richard Glover, 78, went to be with his lord on March 30, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on December 15, 1935 in Schenectady, NY to the late Herbert and Roberta Glover. Arnold graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1954 and went on to serve in the US Navy for four years as a second class Boilerman. On returning to Schenectady, he worked at Ellis Hospital for four years as an Operating Room Technician. Arnold then began working at General Electric, advancing to a Computer Operations Specialist. He remained at GE for 32 years. During his lifetime he also served at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in a variety of capacities, most notably as an Elder for 36 years. His caring love of others also manifested itself in his volunteer work at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Alplaus Fire Dept. Arnold is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois (Sjogren) Glover; Son Richard (Bonnie) Glover and their four children; Daughter Linda (Doug) Williams and their six children. His twin brother Stanley (Nancy) Glover, Sisters Lorraine (Ed) Bennett and Murriel Prchlik. His brother-in-law Robert Sjogren also survives. He is most known as a kind hearted gentleman who gave freely of his time and energy in helping others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday, April 3rd at 11:00 AM at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 1230 Rugby Road Schenectady NY. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 2nd from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. Interment will take place at Gerald B.H.
