Obituary of Caitlin Callahan

Caitlin E. Callahan, 19, of Glenville, died tragically April 15, 2014 in an automobile accident. She was born September 20, 1994 in Albany, NY the daughter of Bradley Callahan of Tricarico, Italy and Kathleen Cronin Ward of Glenville. Caitlin resided in the Ballston Lake- Glenville area her entire life. She was a 2012 graduate of BH-BL High School and currently a student majoring in Biology at S.C.C.C. with aspirations of becoming a veterinarian technician. Caitlin worked at Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital; she was happiest being able to care for animals. Her work even carried over into her spare time. Recently, Caitlin rescued a cat belonging to her beloved boyfriend, Brian Blaisdell, that had been injured in a house fire. Not only was Caitlin dedicated to her work, she was equally generous and caring to friends, family, and strangers alike. She was even able to form friendships with people all over the country through social media. She was a gifted artist who loved to make pieces for those she loved. Caitlin's passion for all things Marvel, specifically her love for the Avengers, really fueled her inspiration to create. Caitlin was predeceased by her grandfather Edward B. Cronin Jr. and by her paternal grandparents Philomena S. and John B. Callahan. Caitlin is survived by her father Bradley Callahan of Tricarico, Italy, and her mother, Kathleen Cronin Ward, step-father Gregory Ward and her sister, Rian Quinn Callahan of Glenville. Her maternal grandmother, Eleanor M. Cronin and Uncle Edward B. Cronin III of Charlton; cherished boyfriend Brian Blaisdell and first cousins Meaghan C. and Timothy D. Cronin; As well as the extended Suriano family. Many family members and friends also survive. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 22 from 4PM - 7PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 23, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. with Rev. Jerome Gingras officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery Glenville.
