Obituary of Nicholas Riccio

Nicholas J. Riccio, 88, died peacefully on November 15, 2012 at Ellis Hospital. Nick was born in Schenectady, NY, the son of the late Joseph P. Riccio and Irene Mabee Riccio. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the Army where he served from 1943-46. Nick married Dolores A. Blanco on September 29, 1951 in Mechanicville. NY. During the 1960's, Nick and Dolores often reflected upon their fond memories of cross country travels in their car, of motel stays , restaurants, beautiful countryside, and the fact that the entire trip was under one thousand dollars! Nick was employed for over 44 years with the General Electric Company where he was a drafting supervisor. He enjoyed poetry and listening to the big band music of Jimmy Dorsey, Glen Miller and others. Nick and Dolores enjoyed long road trips, especially in the Adirondacks and the Northeast U.S. Nick was predeceased by his brother, Joseph P. Riccio in August, 2009. Survivors include his beloved wife, Dolores A. Riccio; his loving daughter, Roberta J. Cullinan and her husband Charles of Mansfield, MA; and his cherished grandchildren: Kaylie A. and Madison E. Cullinan. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11 AM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. with Rev. Jack Arnold officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home Monday prior to the funeral service from 10-11 AM. Interment will take place at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Pine West Plaza, Bldg 4, Suite 405,Washington Ave. Ext. Albany NY 12205.
