Obituary of Frank Kujan

Frank J. Kujan, 74, of Glenville, passed away May 12, 2014 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his family. Frank was born on July 31, 1939 in NYC where he grew up, the son of the late Frank and Katherine Ondrus Kujan. Frank graduated from City College of New York receiving his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He married the former Virginia House on September 16, 1961 in Manassas, VA. Frank and Ginny moved to Glenville in 1965 where they raised a family of six girls all of whom remain close. Frank was employed by G.E. and Lockheed Martin for a total of 44 years retiring from KAPL in 2006. His memberships included ASME, ELFUN, and the G.E. Quarter Century Club. He was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Frank enjoyed nature and the outdoors, especially the Adirondacks where he spent many summers camping, hiking, and canoeing. His hobbies included history and cars. Frank was predeceased by his sister Irene Phillips. Survivors: Include his wife, Virginia Kujan; daughters, Linda J. Beyer (Kevin) of Longmont, CO, Shirley E. Podkulski (Stan) of Wilton, Denise H. Weaver (Dennis) of Halfmoon, Janine K. Sargalis (James) of Burnt Hills and Valerie M. Smullen (Matthew) of Saratoga Springs. Twelve grandchildren: Ashley (Eric), Alex and Samantha; Matthew and Melissa, Garren, Austin and Josh; Jennifer and Justin; Alyssa and Ella. Survivors include several nieces and nephews including Katherine A. Phillips of Glenville. Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:15 AM from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. followed at 10 AM by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home from 6 PM to 8 PM Wednesday. Interment St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
